Getting started

How do I make clips?

Paste a link or drop a file on Home. Roundclip finds the moments worth posting, frames them around whoever is speaking, adds captions and a title, and hands back MP4s. Most videos take 2 to 6 minutes, and clips appear one by one as they're made.

Do I need an account?

Not to try it: paste a link and the first 10 minutes of one video are clipped for you. Sign in to download them. It's free, with 30 minutes every month.

What is Whop?

The store Roundclip uses to sign you in and take payments. A free Whop account is all you need; card details stay with Whop.

Which languages work?

Roundclip detects the language spoken and writes the captions and titles in it. English and Spanish are the ones we test the most.

Minutes and pricing

What does a minute pay for?

One minute of the video you bring, with every clip from it included. A 20-minute video uses 20 minutes.

Do minutes expire?

Never. A pack lasts until you use it, and monthly minutes add up instead of resetting.

How do free minutes work?

Every account gets 30 minutes a month, topped back up to 30 on the 1st (they don't pile up). Clips made with free minutes carry a small Roundclip mark; paid minutes never do.

What if a video fails?

Its minutes come back to your account automatically.

My video is longer than my minutes.

Clip the first part now with the minutes you have, or get more minutes for all of it. You're only charged for the part that's clipped.

Do edits cost minutes?

No. Re-cutting, fixing words, changing the style or the framing and finding more clips are free.

How do I cancel a monthly plan?

Anytime, from your Whop account. The minutes you already have stay.

Links and files

Which links work?

YouTube, Twitch, Kick, X, TikTok, Instagram, Loom and Streamable. For anything else, upload the file.

Why doesn't my Vimeo, Facebook, Rumble or Dailymotion link work?

Those sites don't let our servers read their videos. Download the video from the site and upload the file instead.

How big can a video be?

Files up to 4 GB and videos up to 3 hours. For a longer stream link, Roundclip clips a 3-hour window from the start, or from the link's timestamp.

Can I make several at once?

Up to 3 videos at a time. Start the next one when one finishes.

Clips

Which formats can I get?

Vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, horizontal for X and YouTube, or square. You can switch every clip of a video at once.

Can I change a clip?

Yes: tap a word in its text to cut it from the video, fix a caption word, trim the start or end, change the caption style, reframe it, zoom in on every other sentence, clean up the voice, or swap its title for another of the three it comes with.

Can captions use my brand color and font?

Yes. Save your color and pick one of six fonts in Brand kit, then pick Brand in any caption style list. Turn on "Use it for new videos" and it's picked for you. A team uses its owner's brand kit.

Can I put my logo on my clips?

Yes. Upload it in Brand kit and it goes top right on every clip made with paid minutes. Clips made with free minutes carry the Roundclip mark instead. A PNG with a transparent background looks best.

I post for several clients. Can each have its own look?

Yes. In Brand kit, add a kit for each client with its color, font and logo. It shows up by name in the caption style list of every video.

Can the captions be in another language?

Yes: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian or Dutch. Pick one in Clip settings before you make the video, or later in a clip's Captions tab. The captions and their file come back translated, and you can fix any word.

Can I download the captions as a file?

Yes, as SRT or VTT from a clip's Captions tab, timed to the clip as it plays. Useful for YouTube, TikTok's caption upload or an editor.

Can I keep editing a clip in Premiere or Resolve?

Yes. In a clip's Trim tab, download the EDL and the source video into one folder and import the EDL: you get the clip's cuts on a timeline. The framing, captions and title stay in the MP4.

How long are my clips kept?

30 days, then the files are deleted. Download the clips you want to keep.

Who owns the clips?

You do. Only use videos you own or have permission to use; Roundclip stores and processes them only to make your clips.

Teams

Can my team use one account?

Yes. The Agency plan comes with 3 seats: open Team, make an invite link and send it. Everyone's videos use the team's minutes, and everyone sees and edits the team's videos.

What happens to my own minutes when I join a team?

They stay on your account. While you're on the team your videos use the team's minutes, and when you leave yours are there again.

Can I take someone off my team?

Anytime, from Team. You can also make a new invite link, so the old one stops working, or turn the link off.

API and AI agents

Is there an API?

Yes, a REST API and an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor and Claude Desktop, on every plan. They use the same minutes as the app. Keys and examples are on the API for agents page.

Can Zapier, Make or n8n start something when my clips are ready?

Yes. Add a webhook on the API for agents page and we'll send each video to it when its clips are ready or it fails, with every clip's download link. Use a “catch hook” or custom webhook trigger.
